Asayish Forces Announce the End of the New Phase of Operation “Humanity and Security” in Al-Hawl Camp

The Internal Security Forces (Asayish), in cooperation with the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ), and with support from the Syrian Democratic Forces and the International Coalition, announced the end of the new phase of Operation “Humanity and Security” in Al-Hawl Camp in the Hasakah countryside, northeastern Syria, on September 6, 2025.

The participating forces said in an official statement: “This phase is an extension of our ongoing efforts to confront the threat of ISIS cells that have sought, over the past period, to destabilize security within the camp and target civilians and humanitarian workers.”

The statement explained that the campaign achieved significant results, including “dismantling active terrorist networks operating within the camp, arresting 11 ISIS-linked members, and thwarting several attempts to target service and humanitarian facilities.” It also noted “the implementation of special nighttime operations against terrorist hideouts, resulting in the destruction of dangerous hotbeds that were planning attacks against our forces, and limiting the movements of terrorist cells within and around the camp.” The statement emphasized that the operation contributed to “enhancing coordination with humanitarian organizations, ensuring the safe continuation of their missions, and providing a more stable environment for camp residents.” It added, “We affirm that the support of the Syrian Democratic Forces and our partners in the International Coalition has had an impact on the progress we have achieved in the ‘Humanity and Security’ operation.”

The forces emphasized the continuation of their fight against terrorism, saying, “Our fight against terrorism is ongoing, and protecting civilians and meeting their humanitarian needs will remain a top priority until ISIS’s attempts to regenerate itself and its extremist ideology are completely eliminated.”
