The General Command of the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) in North and East Syria announced on Monday, September 15, 2025, that it had conducted extensive security campaigns in the city of Raqqa and western Deir ez-Zor over the past few days, with the aim of enhancing security and stability and pursuing wanted individuals.
The General Command said in an official statement: “Based on the directives of the Interior Ministry and the General Command of our forces in North and East Syria, and with the aim of enhancing security and stability and pursuing wanted individuals, our Special Forces (H.A.T.) and Operations Forces, with the participation of our security departments (the General Security Service, the Anti-Crime and Anti-Narcotics Department), conducted extensive security campaigns in both the city of Raqqa and western Deir ez-Zor over the past few days.”
These campaigns resulted in the arrest of 61 wanted individuals involved in terrorism, crime, and drug trafficking and promotion cases. The statement added: “Our forces seized quantities of weapons, ammunition, and explosives, in addition to various narcotics, including crystal meth, hashish, Captagon, and other narcotic pills, as well as drug paraphernalia, various mines, various ammunition, and hundreds of bullets and weapons caches.”
The statement indicated that these campaigns were part of a comprehensive security plan targeting the hideouts of wanted individuals. The forces responded with high professionalism and precision, and were able to carry out their missions despite clashes with some wanted individuals, without any casualties among their ranks. The statement confirmed that “the detainees were duly referred to the judiciary.”
The General Command affirmed in its statement: “We, in the General Command of the Internal Security Forces in North and East Syria, affirm that the results of these campaigns have provided a decisive deterrent to anyone who attempts to tamper with the security and stability of our regions. We emphasize that our operations will continue relentlessly until we eradicate all forms of terrorism, crime, and drugs.”
The General Command called on the people to cooperate with its forces and report any suspicious activity, saying: “We call on our people to cooperate with our forces and report any suspicious activity to preserve their security and the safety of their community.”
