HASAKAH COUNTRYSIDE — The administration of the Ras al-Ain (Sere Kaniye) region in the Hasakah countryside has issued a new circular requiring all citizens wishing to leave the city and planning to transport their household furniture to visit the administration building to obtain prior approval before departing. This report is based on sources from the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR).
According to the information, the circular stipulates the full completion of required administrative procedures to obtain formal approval. It emphasizes that this measure is compulsory, and any violation will subject the individuals involved to legal accountability.
This decision comes in the wake of an increase in theft incidents recorded in the region recently. These incidents coincided with the withdrawal of pro-Turkish factions, where several cases of looting civilian homes and properties were documented amidst a state of relative security chaos following those developments.
According to SOHR sources, the relevant authorities aim through this step to regulate the movement of furniture and organize departures from the city in an effort to curb theft and ensure the protection of residents’ property. This occurs as local fears persist regarding the deteriorating security situation and the potential recurrence of such incidents.
