In the city of Homs, on the afternoon of September 8, 2025, the body of Ezzat Shawish, 67, from the Zahraa neighborhood, was found “killed by a bullet to the head” in Al-Waer Hospital, according to local sources. A man was killed in the northern Homs countryside.
In the northern Homs countryside, Mr. Mazen Suleiman Eideh, 48, from the village of Qaniyat al-Assi, was killed on the night of September 7, 2025. According to sources, an “armed terrorist group from the Turkmen village of Tasnin” stormed Eideh’s home and opened fire directly at him, killing him instantly.

Accusations of complicity and lack of accountability
Sources indicated that the group responsible for Eideh’s killing is the same group that killed the two girls, Dalaa and Natalie Muhammad al-Asaad, on August 4, 2025, “without any prosecution by the Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham authorities,” according to eyewitnesses. The sources added that these groups “carry out arbitrary arrests of unarmed civilians, both women and men, without any legal warrants.”
