Sheikhs from the villages of Qibi and Jaada, along with notable figures from Arab and Kurdish tribes, met in the city of Kobani in the Rojava region (northern Syria) with representatives of the General Security affiliated with the Interim Authority in Damascus, the Kurdish Asayish forces, representatives of the Autonomous Administration, and the Deputy Governor of Aleppo, Ali Hannawi. The meeting was held in the village of Bistak, located in the western countryside of Kobani, according to media outlets close to the Syrian Democratic Forces.
This meeting is considered the first of its kind in the city of Kobani following the signing of the agreement between the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Interim Government, marking a significant step in security and administrative coordination in the area.
During the meeting, participants discussed mechanisms for implementing the agreement and ways to facilitate the return of residents to their villages, with particular focus on the situation of the residents of Sheikh al-Fawqani and Sheikh al-Tahtani.
As an initial step, it was agreed to establish eight joint checkpoints between the Asayish forces and the General Security, in addition to one main checkpoint extending from the Jarablus Bridge to the villages of Jaql Weran and Qasimiya in the town of Sheikh, with the aim of enhancing stability and regulating the security situation.
According to the Internal Security Forces, discussions are expected to continue in the coming days regarding the establishment of additional joint checkpoints between the General Security of the Interim Government and the Asayish forces in Jallabiya and Sarrin.
