As part of their ongoing operations against remnants of ISIS terrorist cells, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced the implementation of a tight security operation last Saturday in Raqqa city, which resulted in the arrest of a dangerous ISIS member.
A statement from the forces stated, “Our forces’ military operations teams (YAT) carried out a tight security operation aimed at arresting a dangerous member of ISIS terrorist cells in Raqqa city.”
The statement explained, “The operation came after months of close monitoring and surveillance of the movements and activities of the terrorist Hassan Jafli, nicknamed ‘Abu Abdo.’ Our forces were able to locate his hiding place, impose a tight security cordon around him, and subsequently arrest him.”
The statement revealed that “the terrorist identified as Hassan was engaged in manufacturing TNT explosives and distributing them to cell members. He used his own warehouse to manufacture these explosives, as part of a malicious and criminal plot to target military points and Internal Security Forces centers, as well as vehicles and civilian gatherings, with the aim of spreading terror and destabilizing the region.”
It added, “During the raid and arrest of the terrorist, 180 TNT blocks, control devices, detonators, and electronic circuits were seized, in addition to a number of mobile devices and sums of money in the possession of the arrested terrorist.”
The statement concluded by emphasizing that the Syrian Democratic Forces “continue their security and military operations to combat terrorism, firmly strike its material and moral foundations, and maintain security and stability in the region.”
