A convoy of security personnel affiliated with the Interim Authority enters the city of al-Hasakah following an agreement with the SDF

On Monday, 2 February 2026, a convoy of armored vehicles and cars belonging to the Ministry of Interior forces of the Interim Authority entered the city of al-Hasakah in Rojava (northern Syria) to implement the agreement between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Interim Authority led by Ahmad al-Sharaa.

The convoy, accompanied by the Kurdish Asayish forces, headed to the Traffic Department building in the city. The Internal Security Commander in the governorate, Marwan al-Ali, appointed by the Interim Authority, told journalists that the coordination process taking place now refutes all rumors and what is being promoted by those inciting hate speech. He added: “I claim that this coordination will dismantle any existing disagreement… the coming days will confirm that things are returning to their proper course.”

For his part, the leader in the Kurdish Asayish forces, Siamand Afrin, said that “the objective of the agreement is to stop the war and prevent bloodshed from both sides, because war harms both parties.” He added that “a committee has been formed for the integration process, and this committee came to the region to complete the procedures, and it will return after completing its work.”

Earlier yesterday, Saturday, 1 February 2026, the Internal Security Commander affiliated with the Interim Authority in Aleppo Governorate, Colonel Mohammad Abdul Ghani, conducted a field visit to the city of Kobani. Media outlets affiliated with the Interim Authority said that the visit came within the framework of preparatory steps to implement the agreement concluded between the state and the SDF, which includes the entry of Internal Security forces into the city and the implementation of the agreed security deployment plan.

This comes after weeks of military confrontations, following which the SDF and the Syrian Authority led by Ahmad al-Sharaa announced (30 January 2026) that they had reached a comprehensive ceasefire agreement that includes the gradual integration of forces and institutions.
