A Tanzanian delegation visits northern and eastern Syria and receives three children and a woman from Daesh families

An official delegation from the United Republic of Tanzania, headed by Nasriya Mohamed Nasser, Commissioner at the Tanzanian Embassy in Cairo, visited the regions of northern and eastern Syria on Monday, August 11, 2025, accompanied by a number of officials.

The delegation was received by Rubel Baho, Deputy Co-Presidency of the Department of External Relations, Khalid Ibrahim, a member of the governing body, and Lana Hussein, a representative of the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ).

Nasriya expressed her thanks to the Autonomous Administration and the Syrian Democratic Forces, saying: “I would like to thank the Autonomous Administration, the Syrian Democratic Forces and all the partners who helped in the success of our mission to recover our nationals from Daesh families.” It also affirmed Tanzania’s support for stability and prosperity in the region.

At the end of the visit, three children and a woman from Daesh families were handed over to the Tanzanian delegation under an official document, within the framework of humanitarian cooperation between the two sides.
