The Media Center of the Syrian Democratic Forces announced on February 13, 2026, the conclusion of a meeting between a Syrian delegation and the U.S. Secretary of State in the German city of Munich.
According to the statement, the Syrian delegation included SDF Commander-in-Chief Mazloum Abdi, Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani, and Ms. Ilham Ahmed. They held talks with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Munich.
The statement noted that discussions focused on the issue of integration and ensuring the rights of all Syrian components within the political process, foremost among them the Kurds and Druze, in addition to stressing the importance of continuing the fight against the terrorist organization ISIS.
According to the statement, the U.S. Secretary of State affirmed that U.S. President Donald Trump “places the Syrian file, the integration process, the implementation of agreements, and counterterrorism at the top of his priorities.”
The statement added that the Commander-in-Chief and the accompanying delegation are expected to continue their meetings.
