23 parties in Kirkuk support Rojava

Kirkuk Political Parties Condemn Attacks on Rojava and Call for International Action

Political parties in Kirkuk held a special expanded meeting with representatives from 23 Kurdish, Arab, and Turkmen parties at the Kurdistan Communist Party-Iraq headquarters. The meeting discussed developments in Rojava and Syria and concluded with a public statement.

The statement described the events in Rojava and Syria as a continuation of genocidal policies against the Kurdish people and other indigenous components, rooted in a long history of injustice supported by regional chauvinistic regimes and international silence. It strongly condemned the attacks and massacres carried out by armed groups affiliated with the Syrian regime and ISIS.

Participants called on the international community and humanitarian organizations to urgently fulfill their moral and historical responsibilities to protect civilians and halt extremist attacks on civilian areas. They emphasized the need to expand popular struggle, increase public pressure, and intensify diplomatic efforts locally and internationally to confront plans targeting Kurds in Rojava.

The statement also praised efforts by individuals and states working to de-escalate the situation, commended humanitarian aid and donation campaigns as a national and moral duty, and stressed the vital role of media and journalists in mobilizing public awareness, strengthening national unity, and supporting the people of Rojava.
