After Initial Exclusion, PJAK Re-joins “Freedom for Iran” Conference in London

Rivar Avdanan, a member of the Executive Council of the Free Life Party of Kurdistan (PJAK), has announced that the party has been re-invited to participate in the “Freedom for Iran” conference in London. The reversal follows widespread protests over the party’s initial exclusion. Avdanan confirmed that a party representative will attend and deliver a speech during the sessions.

In a post on the X platform, Avdanan explained that PJAK had initially welcomed the formal invitation and engaged with it positively. However, the party was later surprised to find its name and representative removed from the program without an official explanation—an act he described as being in contradiction with democratic principles.

Avdanan added that, in response to the exclusion, the party received broad support from democratic circles and forces, leading PJAK to take a critical stance regarding the incident.

He noted that following these criticisms, several members of the conference’s Coordinating Council engaged in “in-depth discussions” to rectify the situation. These efforts resulted in a new opportunity for the party’s participation.

Avdanan confirmed that PJAK has received a fresh invitation and will participate effectively, with its primary representative scheduled to speak during the sessions.

Furthermore, Avdanan expressed the party’s gratitude to the individuals who defended democratic standards and helped correct the course of the process. He emphasized the importance of resolving disputes between Kurdish parties within the framework of alliances and through dialogue.

Avdanan is scheduled to deliver a speech today during the second session of the conference, titled: “An Iran Purged of Separatism: Participation and Shared Power.”
