The Kurdistan Region Security Agency (Asayish) arrested two members of the terrorist organization “ISIS” in two separate security operations carried out on June 14, 2026, within the borders of Sulaymaniyah Governorate and Raparin Administration, in coordination with the Iraqi Counter-Terrorism Service.
The agency announced in a statement issued on Monday that the General Directorate of Asayish Operations was able to carry out the two operations “after follow-up, surveillance, and precise investigations,” which resulted in the arrest of the two wanted elements.
The statement indicated that the security forces succeeded, following the implementation of the two operations, in “freeing a woman and a child whom one of the terrorist elements had previously detained.”
The detainees were arrested under Article Two of the Anti-Terrorism Law, while investigations are still ongoing with them to “complete legal procedures and uncover the circumstances of the cases related to them.”
