Syrian Deputy Defense Minister Samir Ali Oso, known as “Sipan Hamo,” has condemned the attack targeting the Qasrak base in eastern Syria, holding Iraqi authorities “fully responsible” for the assault.
In a statement posted on his “X” platform account, Oso stated:
“We condemn in the strongest terms the second attack targeting the eastern region of Syria. Specifically, early today, the American Qasrak base located on our territory was subjected to an attack by four drones launched from Iraqi territory. The drones were downed without casualties. We hold Iraq responsible and call on them to prevent the recurrence of attacks that threaten our stability. We emphasize the importance of regional and international cooperation to ensure security and stability in the region.”

Local sources reported hearing explosions after midnight on Saturday in various areas of the Al-Hasakah governorate, including Rmelan, Qamishli, Tal Tamr, and the vicinity of Qasrak. These were likely caused by a new wave of drones.
The sources explained that air defenses at the U.S. Qasrak base intercepted several drones, while International Coalition aircraft carried out interceptions of drones arriving from Iraqi territory.
Furthermore, reports indicated the downing of a drone on the Tal Tamr–Qamishli road near the “Al-Kassara” site.
Later Sunday morning, media outlets and social media platforms circulated footage showing damage to wheat silos in the Al-Hasakah countryside, stating it resulted from Iranian drones targeting a U.S. military base in the area.
