General Mobilization Committee Announces the Martyrdom of Ahmed Omar from the Kurdistan Region in the Hasakah Resistance Front

The General Mobilization Committee in Rojava announced in an official statement the identity of the first martyr of the General Mobilization campaign, confirming the martyrdom of Ahmed Omar, a young man from Kirkuk in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, who was killed while fighting on the Hasakah Resistance Front.

The statement said:

“Once again, the history of Kurdistan has been written with the blood of its finest sons on pages of honor. As the darkest attacks were launched against Rojava—targeting human dignity and the existence of our people—the borders drawn on maps were shattered in the hearts of Kurdish youth through the spirit of general mobilization. Our people’s hero and a selfless fighter for national unity, the martyr Ahmed, set out from Southern Kurdistan, from the historic city of Kirkuk, toward the land of Rojava.”

The committee added that Ahmed Omar became a living symbol of Kurdish national unity, stressing that he did not fight in Rojava as a guest, but as a rightful defender of the dignity of the Kurdish people. His martyrdom, the statement said, represents a powerful call for national unity, and his blood has become a lasting symbol of brotherhood among the four parts of Kurdistan.

The statement concluded:

“We bow in reverence to the memory of the martyr Ahmed, a martyr of all Kurdistan. We pledge to carry forward the banner of unity that he bore from Southern Kurdistan to Rojava. We extend our deepest condolences to his family, to our people in Southern Kurdistan, and to all our compatriots. Martyrs are immortal. Long live national unity.”
