KOBANI — The Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), Mazloum Abdi, held a meeting via the “Zoom” application with a group of Kurdish parties in the city of Kobani. The meeting aimed to discuss the latest developments regarding the implementation of the January 29 agreement with the Syrian Interim Government and the challenges facing its execution.
According to the official website of the Democratic Union Party (PYD), the meeting took place at the headquarters of the Executive Council of the Kobani Administration, with the participation of several representatives from Kurdish political parties.
During the meeting, Abdi reviewed the progress of the agreement’s implementation, noting that the integration process is proceeding smoothly in some sectors while facing difficulties in others. He emphasized, however, that these challenges have not hindered the continued execution of the agreement’s terms.
The participants also discussed the issue of civil peace and ways to strengthen it, ensuring social stability and maintaining coexistence among the various components of the region.
In conclusion, the participants provided interventions focusing on the necessity of forming a comprehensive local authority in Kobani that represents various segments of society. They also raised inquiries regarding the city’s status within the framework of the agreement and the mechanisms for its application on the ground.
