The former director of the media center for the Syrian Democratic Forces says the methods of the US envoy based on blackmail and threats will not remain under wraps, warning of the repercussions of his influence on the future of Syrian communities.
Farhad Shami, the former director of the media center for the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), leveled sharp criticisms at US Envoy to Syria Tom Barrack, accusing him of standing behind what he described as “dirty diplomacy” built on blackmail, shady deals, and the imposition of dictates through threats and coercion, in a post on the “X” platform.
Shami stated that Tom Barrack, whom he described as “the architect behind the massacres targeting Kurds, Alawites, and Druze,” represents a brand of diplomacy built on blackmail and shady deals, considering that his methods of managing the Syrian file and dealing with the country’s components resemble mafia-style methods.

He added that these methods will not remain hidden behind closed doors forever, pointing out that the truth about Barrack’s behind-the-scenes dealings and the nature of his backroom deals will be exposed, and his role in fueling conflicts and unleashing bloodshed in Syria will come to light.
Shami believed that the further Syrians distance themselves from Barrack’s influence and his methods—which he described as “mafia-style”—the closer they will come to a safer and more stable future.
