Damascus — A military source revealed to the “963+” platform new developments within the military restructuring plans, which include the creation of a fourth Special Forces brigade. This move is part of the military integration process between the Syrian Interim Government and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
The source explained that the new brigade, estimated to have fewer than 1,000 fighters, will join the three previous brigades included in the merger process, thereby enhancing the capabilities of the Special Forces in the coming phase.
In a related context regarding training and qualification programs, the source announced that the “Derik Brigade” has successfully completed its intensive training course in the Damascus countryside. It has begun moving toward its permanent headquarters in the city of Derik. The brigade consists of approximately 1,120 officers and personnel.
Regarding field preparations, the source reported that the “Hasakah Brigade” is preparing to head to the city of Al-Nabk in the Damascus countryside at the end of the current week.
