Massacre in Deir Hafer Countryside: SDF Accuses Damascus Government Militants of Killing Seven Civilians, Including Children

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) media center announced in a statement issued on Saturday, September 20, 2025, that a drone belonging to Damascus government militants targeted one of its military positions in the Deir Hafer area this afternoon, “without causing any human or material losses.”

The statement explained that “our forces immediately responded with precise strikes on the sources of fire, achieving confirmed hits that forced the aggressors to retreat.”
Later Saturday evening, the SDF said that factions affiliated with the Damascus government and backed by Turkey committed “a massacre against civilians in the village of Umm Tina in the Deir Hafer countryside east of Aleppo.” It explained that the attacks began “with drones, followed by intense artillery shelling at 7:00 PM, directly targeting civilian homes.”
The attacks, according to the statement, resulted in “the martyrdom of seven civilians and the wounding of four others.”


The names of the victims are as follows:
• Amina Muhammad al-Azzawi (75 years old)
• Fatima Hayya Ubaid (65 years old)
• Amina Muhammad al-Hamza (22 years old)
• Aisha Hamza Ubaid (18 years old)
• Hamza Ubaid al-Razzaq (4 years old)
• Abdulghani Rahman al-Ubaid (1 year old)
• Rahaf Hussein al-Azzawi (23 years old)
The wounded are:
• Jumaa Hamoud al-Muhaisen (60 years old)
• Maryam Hamoud al-Muhaisen (55 years old)
• Halima Mahmoud al-Muhaisen (65 years old)
• Amina Hamoud al-Amoura (20 years old)
The SDF concluded its statement by affirming: “We condemn in the strongest terms this heinous crime, which comes in the context of a continuing approach by these factions for years to target defenseless civilians, and we affirm that impunity has encouraged the recurrence of these violations.”
