On the 12th anniversary of the genocide committed against the Yezidis in Shingal (Sinjar), the Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), Mazloum Abdi, called for revealing the fate of those kidnapped.

In a post published on the “X” platform, Abdi stated: “On the twelfth anniversary of the Sinjar genocide, we commemorate all the martyrs with deep reverence. We also recall with pride and honor our fighters who sacrificed their lives to protect our Yezidi people,” highlighting the sacrifices of his forces’ fighters who participated in protecting the Yezidi community.

Abdi explained that SDF fighters sacrificed their lives to protect the Yezidi people, contributing to the defeat of ISIS terrorism and saving thousands of civilians from genocide.

Abdi emphasized that “revealing the fate of all kidnapped individuals and ensuring the security of Sinjar and the safety of our Yezidi people represents a moral, humanitarian, and international responsibility.”
