Yehuda Ben Yosef Discusses Strengthening Israeli Government Support for the Kurdish People with Eli Cohen

Yehuda Ben Yosef, President of the Kurdish Community in Israel, announced that he held a meeting with Minister and Cabinet Member Eli Cohen, with the aim of advancing the Kurdish lobby within the Government of Israel.

Ben Yosef noted that Minister Eli Cohen is one of the senior members of the Israeli government, a member of the Security Cabinet, and a public figure with extensive diplomatic and governmental experience, working to strengthen Israel’s strategic standing and its relations in both regional and international arenas.

During the meeting, Minister Eli Cohen stated:

“The deep connection between the Jewish people and the Kurdish people goes back generations. The State of Israel has a responsibility to act to the best of its ability for the safety and security of the Kurdish people in Syria and around the world.”

Ben Yosef added that it was also agreed that in the coming days a letter will be sent to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, calling for clear support for the Kurdish people in Rojava (northeastern Syria), and for action to protect their security, rights, and future.

Yehuda Ben Yosef, President of the Kurdish Community in Israel, stressed that these steps are part of ongoing efforts to “stop the genocide” and to strengthen political support for the Kurdish cause within Israel’s official institutions.
