Local sources reported the abduction of a Kurdish man and his son while they were traveling along the road connecting the cities of Raqqa and Aleppo. According to sources from the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the man and his son hail from the village of “Jirn,” belonging to the western countryside of Giri Spi / Tell Abyad. An armed group intercepted them while they were traveling between Raqqa and Aleppo and took them to an unknown location.
The sources explained that the kidnappers contacted the family of the man and his son, demanding a financial ransom of 25,000 US dollars in exchange for their release.
This incident comes amid ongoing reports of kidnappings and disappearances in various regions of Syria, particularly among members of religious and ethnic minorities.
