The administration of Ronahî TV announced that a fire broke out at the channel’s building in the city of Qamishlo in the early hours of March 12, 2026, causing material damage to the studio and the control room before it was brought under control by firefighting teams and members of the channel’s staff.
In a statement issued regarding the incident, the channel’s administration explained that “a fire broke out in our television channel’s studio in the city of Qamishlo at exactly 02:00 on March 12, 2026. The fire — which spread rapidly — was brought under control thanks to the intervention of firefighting teams and the efforts of the television staff.”
The statement indicated that the fire resulted in significant material damage to the studio and the control room (regie), noting that investigations conducted after the incident showed that the cause of the fire was an electrical short circuit.
The administration added in its statement that “as a result, we were forced to temporarily suspend the channel’s broadcast originating from our studios in Qamishlo.”
The statement stressed that the channel will continue its general broadcast despite the incident, saying: “We assure our audience and followers that our general broadcast continues in order to ensure that you remain informed with information and facts from their primary sources.”
The statement also confirmed that work will be carried out to address the technical problems caused by the fire within a short period of time so that broadcasting from the Qamishlo studio returns to normal, concluding with the words: “We will not leave the people without information.”
