The Syrian Ministry of Education Recognizes Certificates Issued by the Autonomous Administration

The Syrian Ministry of Education issued Decision No. 1617/943 regarding certificates issued by the Autonomous Administration. Under this decision, it approved the accreditation of certificates granted by the Autonomous Administration, while allowing students who pursued their studies according to the Autonomous Administration’s curricula to sit for the public certificate examinations, during the academic years 2025-2026 and 2026-2027.

The decision stated:

The Minister of Education (Dr. Mohammad Abdul Rahman Turko),

Based on the provisions of Law No. /31/ of 2024,

And on the necessity of taking into account the circumstances and legal statuses of students in the eastern governorates,

And as a continuation of the integration process to build a unified educational system, and after the implementation of the unified Syrian government curriculum has commenced across all Syrian governorates,

And in accordance with the requirements of the public interest,

Decides the following:

Article /1/

Students who previously pursued their studies according to the Autonomous Administration’s curricula are permitted to sit for the public certificate examinations (General Secondary Education, Basic Education) using these curricula, in accordance with the unified national controls and standards set by the Ministry of Education, and that is exclusively during the academic years 2025-2026 and 2026-2027.

Article /2/

Certificates previously granted by the Autonomous Administration shall be accredited in accordance with the procedures and instructions approved by the Ministry and currently in force in this regard.

Article /3/

This decision shall be published and communicated to whomever is concerned with its implementation.
