Examinations for the secondary school certificate according to the Autonomous Administration curriculum, and the preparatory school certificate examinations according to the former Syrian regime curriculum—which is currently supervised by the Interim Government—began today in the cities of the Al-Jazira region in Western Kurdistan “Rojava,” alongside the preparatory school certificate examinations according to the Autonomous Administration curriculum in the city of Kobani.
In the cities of Al-Jazira, the secondary school certificate (Baccalaureate) examinations under the Democratic Autonomous Administration curriculum commenced today, along with the preparatory school certificate examinations under the former regime curriculum, which is currently supervised by the Interim Government.
According to its approved system, the examinations for the Autonomous Administration subjects were restricted only to non-regular (private) students, whereas the examinations for the subjects belonging to the former Syrian regime include both regular and non-regular students together.
The number of non-regular secondary school certificate students under the Autonomous Administration, who are sitting for exams across 11 centers distributed throughout the cities of Qamishlo, Hasakah, and Derik, reaches 2,860 male and female students.
Meanwhile, the media office of the Directorate of Education in Hasakah Governorate reported that the number of applicants for the preparatory school certificate examinations stands at 14,425 male and female students, distributed across 57 examination centers in the cities of Qamishlo, Hasakah, Derik, Sere Kaniye, Shaddadi, and Til Koçer (Al-Yaarubiyah). Additionally, 18 male and female students are sitting for the Sharia preparatory level examinations within the same centers.
Regarding the examination schedule, 12th-grade (Baccalaureate) students in both the scientific and literary branches began sitting for the Autonomous Administration subject exams today, while the 9th-grade (preparatory certificate) exams are scheduled to start on June 6th.
Conversely, the preparatory and Sharia preparatory certificate examinations for subjects belonging to the former Syrian regime kicked off today, while the 12th-grade exams will begin on June 6th.
The examination process is managed through joint committees that include representatives from the Directorate of Education in Hasakah Governorate and the Board of Education and Teaching in Al-Jazira, with the aim of supervising and organizing the progress of exams in the designated centers.
Furthermore, the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) are tasked with maintaining security at the examination centers, where patrols have been deployed in front of all facilities.
Kobani
In a related context, around 207 non-regular students at the preparatory level, following the Autonomous Administration curricula, began taking their exams this morning at the Martyr Seydo School in the city of Kobani.
