Traffic at a Standstill on Tel Tamr–Serekaniye Road

Despite the official announcement regarding the reopening of the public highway connecting the cities of Tel Tamr and Serekaniye, traffic remains completely halted amid ongoing caution among local residents.

According to reports by the Kurdish Hawar News Agency, citing its correspondent in Tel Tamr, civilians are refraining from using the road at this time due to security concerns. These fears are primarily attributed to the presence of a Turkish military base located near the road in the vicinity of Al-Arisha village, which is hindering the return of normal traffic flow.

The reopening of the road, which took place yesterday, Monday, came as part of the implementation of the January 29 agreement signed between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Syrian Interim Government. The agreement aims to organize movement, facilitate civilian transit, and revitalize commercial activity.

While all roadblocks have been removed from the highway, a joint checkpoint is scheduled to be established temporarily, comprising members of the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) and the Interim Government forces.
