88 prisoners arrived in the city of Hasakah as part of the fifth batch of the prisoner exchange agreement between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Syrian Interim Government, amid a reception by their families and security leaders in the city.

The residents of Hasakah and the families of the released prisoners received the convoy at the Municipal Stadium in the Guwayran neighborhood, in the presence of leaders from the Internal Security Forces (Asayish), in accordance with approved procedures.

In a statement by the Hasakah Governorate, it explained that preparations to receive the SDF prisoner convoy—consisting of 88 members—took place “under the direct supervision of the Governor of Hasakah, Engineer Nour al-Din Ahmad, accompanied by the presidential team concerned with following up on the implementation of the January 29 agreement, the Commander of Internal Security, Brigadier General Marwan al-Ali, and his deputy, Brigadier General Mahmoud Khalil.”

The statement noted that “release operations will continue through successive batches until the prisoner file is completely concluded.”

This batch comes within the framework of implementing the terms of the agreement concluded between the two parties on January 29.

The first batch was released on March 10, 2026, followed by the second batch on March 19, then the third on April 11, and the fourth on May 8.
