The Commander of the Eastern Region confirms that what was published by “Türkiye” newspaper on his authority is incorrect, calling for not relying on any statements attributed to him unless documented in audio and video.

Farhad Shami, Media Director of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), stated that commander Samir Osso “Sipan Hamo” denied the validity of statements attributed to him regarding the Israeli role and his vision for the integration process between the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Syrian state, emphasizing that he did not make the positions published by “Türkiye” newspaper on his authority.

Shami explained that he communicated “in a personal capacity” with the Commander of the Eastern Region, commander Samir Osso, regarding the statements attributed to him. He noted that Osso confirmed what was reported in the newspaper on this matter was “incorrect,” denying making these statements or the positions attributed to him.

According to Shami, Osso pointed out that the publication of these statements at this time “was not arbitrary,” considering that the newspaper deliberately brought them up at this sensitive stage in the region’s history.

Osso stressed the necessity of not believing any statements attributed to him unless they are documented in audio and video.

“Türkiye” newspaper had attributed statements to Hammu regarding the impact of recent shifts on the interests of certain powers, foremost among them Israel, and the resulting potential attempts to obstruct and disrupt the integration process.

According to what was reported by the newspaper, Hammu said that the interests of certain powers, foremost among them Israel, were damaged as a result of recent shifts. Therefore, they will work to obstruct and disrupt the integration process by adopting new methods to destabilize the atmosphere of peace and create additional fault lines.

He added that the parties that sought to employ the Kurds in their plans have “lost,” while the peoples of the region—including Arabs, Kurds, and Turks—have gained, calling for strengthening brotherhood and stability, and learning from past mistakes to build the future of Syria on the basis of peace and mutual trust.
