Martyrs’ Families Council organizes funeral ceremony for two Asayish (Internal Security Forces) members and a Qamishlo Brigade fighter.

Today, residents of the city of Qamishlo laid the bodies of three martyrs to rest in a ceremony organized by the Martyrs’ Families Council, where they were buried at the Martyr Delil Sarokhan Cemetery.

The funeral ceremony included two female members of the Kurdish Asayish (“Internal Security Forces”) who were martyred in the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood on 1/9/2026, alongside a fighter from the Qamishlo Brigade who was martyred on 8/19/2026 after succumbing to his injuries.

The martyrs are: Rohef Shervan, Zilan Rojger, and Rafi Issa Al-Issa.

The funeral comes at a time when the events in Aleppo’s Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyeh neighborhoods from early this year remain prominent in the scene. On August 17, 2026, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented an increase in the casualty toll from those events, reporting 134 people killed in the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyeh neighborhoods, including 48 civilians, 86 military personnel, and one unidentified individual.

Developments in the two neighborhoods had escalated during January 2026, prior to the withdrawal of the local Kurdish forces.
