French forces carried out joint military exercises this Saturday evening with the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) inside Qasrak Base, located northwest of Al-Hasakah in Rojava (northeastern Syria).
According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the forces participating in the maneuvers used warplanes along with heavy weapons as part of military drills aimed at raising combat readiness and enhancing field coordination between the two sides.
These movements come amid continued military activity in northern and eastern Syria, accompanied by intensive aircraft flights in the region’s airspace.
These exercises are the second of their kind in the area since the end of the recent battles that erupted between the Syrian Democratic Forces and the transitional government.
On February 6, forces of the International Coalition, with the participation of warplanes and French soldiers alongside the People’s Protection Units, conducted large-scale military exercises at Qasrak Base that included carrying out airstrike operations and the use of heavy weapons.
